EMI announced on Sunday that it has an ‘exciting new digital offering,’ for the media event to be held in London on Monday with Steve Jobs as a special guest, furthering speculation that that the Beatles may finally become available for download through iTunes, says Reuters.
Engadget seem to be suggesting that they are about to launch tracks on iTunes that are free from DRM. This will surely make some folks very happy…(Via Mashable!.)
UPDATE: Well EMI announced that they and Apple would be providing DRM free downloads, and guess what? The customer will have to pay a premium for this. Hmm, well I guess that this will set a precedent that other users will come to expect as they’re buying other digital content…
